ABOUT THIS CLUB
Welcome! The Spanish Honor Society recognizes high achievement in the subject of Spanish as well as interest in the culture of those who speak the language from Wakefield High School students. The goal of the organization is to promote and encourage enthusiasm about advanced knowledge of the Spanish language and culture, to render service to the local Hispanic community, to promote scholarship in the Spanish language among both members and non-members that are taking Spanish courses at Wakefield High, and to encourage and develop the leadership skills and character of all members.
REQUIRMENTS TO JOIN
In order to be eligible to join the Spanish Honor's Society, you will need to have:
- Enrolled in or passed at least Spanish 2 (Spanish Heritage I for Natives).
- At the moment, only sophomores, juniors and seniors are eligible to join
- Have and maintain a GPA of 3.3 or higher.
- Have a great character! This includes being responsible, proactive and enthusiastic!
- Have the effort and proactivity to be an active member. This means attending all required events and not exceeding 2 unexcused absences for monthly meetings.
HOUR REQUIREMENTS
Each YEAR, members are required to complete a total of 10 hours for the Spanish Honors Society. More information on hours will come soon!
Each semester, members will be required to complete:
- Two service hours.
- Two cultural hours.
- One required teacher help or tutoring hour.
